A174 Create Advisory Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations
Resolved, the House of ________________ concurring,
That the 79th General Convention create an Advisory Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations to be appointed by the Presiding Officers. It shall be the duty of the Committee to work with the Office of Ecumenical Relations and to make recommendations to the Executive Council Joint Standing Committee on World Mission (or its equivalent.)
Explanation
The Executive Council Joint Standing Committee on World Mission believes that the wider church would benefit from the advice of a committee of experts working closely with the Episcopal Church Center’s Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations to make recommendations regarding the complex issues concerning how the Episcopal Church can best move forward to develop deeper ecumenical and interreligious relationships.
