Resolved, That the House of Bishops of the 79th General Convention, give thanks for the life and witness of Robert Moss Ayres, Jr., who died on June 19, 2018, at his home in Austin, Texas; and be it further

Resolved, That we remember and give thanks to God for his many decades of faithful service to The Episcopal Church, including as Senior Warden of Christ Church, San Antonio; member of the Executive Board of the Diocese of West Texas; member of the Execuitve Council of The Episcopal Church; member of the Board of Episcopal Relief and Development; and member and leader of Bible studies for much of his adult life; and be it further

Resolved, That we express gratitude for Bob Ayres' love of philanthropic giving and his service to the University of the South as Vice-Chancellor from 1977-1988, during which time the University's endowment more than tripled; and be it further

Resolved, That we extend our condolences to his wife Patricia and to his family, as we commend our brother Bob to Christ's never-failing care and love, and into the glorious company of the saints in light.
